wow this really hits home for me... I have a job currently (oddly enough it's in 48 Grove St, Somerville, directly above FirstGiving) but I want out. I, too, have several friends that have been laid off in recent weeks/months, so, in all honesty, I felt greedy. But I still wanted out.

2+ weeks ago, I applied for a new job. Within 3 hours I booked an interview, and within 2 weeks i got an offer. One of the main reasons I landed the interview? The Principal checked out my Twitter feed and liked my personality. Go figure!

Best of luck to you at FirstGiving - they're a great bunch that seem to be doing some pretty awesome work.

And while you're in Davis Sq, check out Taipei Tokyo chines buffet, Dave's Fresh Pasta, and Kick Ass Cupcakes. can't go wrong :)

This is a whole lot of wonderful, Gradon. It's been such a pleasure to get to know you and Meg better of late, not to mention so much of the rest of the local social media community. But...this is about you. And this is really, really wonderful news. Congratulations. And may this be just the first of many posts celebrating joyous new beginnings; given the larger context of our macroeconomic environment right now, happy employment stories are worth raising a virtual toast towards and saying CHEERS! Goodonya. :) Or maybe Gradon-ya. (One pun too far, as usual.)

Maybe next Twitter can get you to move to Austin? ;)

That's so awesome! I'm glad your outside interest in charities is now going to pay off as a full-time job! I'm very excited for you. I am also trying to find a job via Twitter. Being new to Boston and unemployed is a challenge, but I'm optimistic I can find something in this amazing city, recession or no recession.
